Sunny and 75... Well It's 60 but we can pretend!

It is an UNREAL day today here in Bloomington and I for one could not be happier. Don't get me wrong I love the winter but I am more than ready for the sun to come out, and stay out for quite some time! So yeah, Sun you're totally good to stick around don't go anywhere...please :) 

In honor of this beautiful weather and spring break coming up literally right around the corner, I had a little lifestyle analysis and came up with some tips and tricks when transitioning from the cold of winter to the glorious sun of the spring and summer. We are all a little guilty of letting our eating habits go a little during the holiday season and colder months is inevitable to become a little less active and aware because well it's freezing out and who doesn't love staying in on a snowy night with 4 batches of homemade cookies and hot chocolate?? You just have to do it, but now that spring is practically here and we are bringing out those shorts again I am here to provide you with the tips and tricks to get back into the swing of things! and of course, everyone's favorite part, a quick go-to spring and summer outfit perfect for these blue-sky, sunny days!

Tip #1

Super obvious and I feel like my mom saying it but...DRINK WATER, it is so easy to get dehydrated and drinking a ton of water will keep you fueled for all of the fun outdoor activities to come!

Tip #2

This is for all my people in school right now, try and do homework outside for a change! Find your favorite spot on campus or even in your backyard. Soaking up some vitamin-d AND getting homework done? That's multitasking at its finest!

Tip #3

Go on a run outside instead of a treadmill or elliptical! Take advantage of local trails or your neighborhoods sidewalk and take a run outside in nature instead of at a gym or your basements treadmill! Plus you can even run straight to your favorite smoothie place or coffee shop for a quick pick-me-up at the end of your run, it's a win-win!  

Tip #4

Make more of your own food using fresh produce and ingredients. Now that it's spring and summer, fruits and veggies are as fresh as ever and one of the best ways to get back into that healthy lifestyle is by making your own food! I understand it can seem inconvenient at times to have to prepare your own food but it's really much easier than you would think! 

Some of my favorite meals to make while in college and using fresh ingredients:

Avocado Toast

Ingredients: 

Fresh Avocado, bread of your choosing (I love whole wheat or oat bread), and an Egg

Hummus and Veggie Snack 

Ingredients: Carrots, Celery, Broccoli, Bell Peppers, Grape Tomatoes, Hummus (the best part) 

Smoothies!

Ingredients: Any frozen fruit of your choice, Spinach, Water, Yogurt (I prefer just water but this adds sweetness), and sometimes I'll add chia seeds for some extra nutritional benefits! 

OUTFIT TIME! 

This has to be one of the most fun and flirty outfits ever and is perfect for these sunny days! The top is one of our amazing new arrivals and features the stunning tie-dye pattern on an off-the-shoulder flowy top. Quarter tuck this stunning piece into a pair of denim cut-offs that will practically become your uniform this spring and summer, seriously I don't think I could ever own too many denim shorts! Finish this look off with an adorable pair of sandals or white sneakers to make for the perfect spring into summer look.
