God is in control.
I am the type of person that likes to be in control. I don't like to delegate. I would rather do everything 100% correctly, than save my energy and have someone else do something 90% correctly.
My husband, Matt is quite the opposite. We are a perfect match because of this. When I feel like I need control of a situation, he reminds me how important it is to let go, delegate and hand over control to God.
Imagine a life where you have no anxieties, no depression, no stress, no worries. Seems impossible doesn't it? It's not.
Consider Matthew 6: 25-26 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns— and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
If this scripture doesn't make you instantly calmer about your life, I don't know what will.
I struggle from time to time with anxious thoughts and worries. I stress out about every little thing because of my obsession with control.
I have learned that God is MUCH BETTER at being in control.
Allow yourself to let go of the need for control and let God be in control. Imagine how peaceful your life can be. Small things don't get to you anymore. You're more patient with your husband, with your kids. You have a smile on your face more often, which can effect someone else's day. Your blood pressure likely decreases. You complain a lot less.
You cannot help anyone until you help yourself.
You cannot be a blessing until you know how worthy you are.
You cannot make a difference until God makes a difference in you.
